Empowerment Gateway is a registered not-for-profit organization in England and Wales with company number 12724826. We aim to register with the UK Charity Commission during the course of 2021. The company is run on a strictly not for profit basis in accordance with its objects.
Empowerment Gateway is now operational in the Algarve (Portugal). We are in the process of registering a branch in Lagos. (It is now dependent on the constraints and challenges caused by the SARS-COV2 pandemic measures that the Portuguese government implemented and its impact on their governmental departments operations. This will determine when the registration of the EG branch in Portugal will be finalised)
Empowerment Gateway’s vision is to leave our kids, grandkids, and all future generations a world free from poverty and injustice. We want to see a just, fair and sustainable world, in which everybody enjoys the right to a life of dignity, and freedom from poverty and oppression.
We believe in the power in people. If we can support people to know, claim and defend their rights, the world will be a much fairer place.
Fair: we work to achieve socially just solutions to human rights problems, in an inclusive and accessible way, and in a spirit of friendship with our stakeholders, at home and globally.
Visionary: we don’t have all the answers, but we set out a positive vision of the world the next generation should enjoy. We constantly show how our successes are making an impact.
Insightful: we base everything we do on rigorous evidence, and we also know which levers to pull to bring about change.
Determined: we’re relentless in working for change; we don’t give up on our goal, or on the people we work with, and we take a brave approach to difficult or unpopular challenges.
Change-making: working with local groups and frontline communities, our organisation leaders have a track record of influence and practical solutions that bring about the right type of change.
